Does Pine Tree Recovery Center Accept Blue Cross Blue Shield?
Yes. Although the limits of each individual’s coverage will vary depending on the state your insurance was issued in, whether your plan has bronze, silver, gold or platinum level coverage, and what your deductible and co-pay amounts are. Your Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance may include BCBS Behavioral Health coverage, which provides confidential support for a wide range of mental health and substance abuse concerns. Thanks to the federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, no group health insurance plan that provides mental health or substance abuse coverage can place benefit limits on that coverage that are less favorable than limits for medical or surgical benefits.
Will Blue Cross Blue Shield Cover the Entirety of my Treatment?
Your Blue Cross Blue Shield policy may cover some or all of the costs associated with detoxification treatment and related medications, as well as some or all of the cost of therapeutic services as an inpatient or outpatient client. These services may include group and personal therapy, family therapy, and other aftercare programs. As one of the nation’s largest health care providers, Blue Cross Blue Shield covers 1 in 3 Americans in all 50 states and is accepted widely.
The limits of your coverage are affected first and foremost by your specific plan. Normally, bronze level plans have high deductibles, and cover approximately 60% of total medical care costs. On the opposite end of the spectrum, platinum level plans have low deductibles, and typically cover up to 90% of medical care costs. Depending on the state in which your plan originated, you may have additional coverage available through BCBS Behavioral Health.

If your plan is a Health Maintenance Organization Plan, you may need to receive in-network treatment for your BCBS insurance to cover your care. Additional factors include a past history of treatment for substance abuse, the details of your comprehensive, individualized treatment plan, and your policy’s deductible and co-pay requirements. Depending on your specific policy, substance abuse recovery services may require pre-authorization. You may be required to provide documentation that includes referrals from your primary care provider, or your history of past substance abuse treatment or mental health care.
