We Are Here For You

With an overwhelming demand for addiction treatment in Portland, Maine and the state facing a limited capacity of detox beds, expanding access to treatment options is an important step in fighting the state’s substance abuse epidemic. According to the National Institutes on Drug Abuse, Maine falls within the top 10 states for number of opioid overdose-related deaths each year, while the state’s Departments of Health and Human Services reports 5% of people older than 12 years of age qualify as having an alcohol use disorder. Several factors lead to substance use and abuse trends in Maine – including low perception of risk, high degree of social use, relative ease in obtaining substances, and the presence of mental health issues.
